In this hands-on four hour workshop, you’ll explore a range of creative mending and simple alteration techniques using both hand and machine sewing. Working with supplied pre-loved fabrics and your own much-loved garments or op-shop finds, you’ll learn practical skills to repair, refit, and extend the life of your clothing.
Together, we’ll explore visible mending techniques such as patching, darning, embroidery, sashiko, and boro-inspired stitching, and simple alterations with creative flair. Whether you’d like to mend a hole, take something in, shorten a hem, or creatively transform a garment, you’ll be supported in adapting techniques to suit your own needs and aesthetic.
You’ll leave with practical repair and alteration skills, at least one garment you’ve brought back to life, and the confidence to work on your to-do pile at home.
There will be sewing machines to use for +$10 extra, or you can bring your own…
